Question

How do I reauthorise bank permissions when I've done everything the app is requesting and waited 10 days? I've even deleted the QB app and reinstalled. Please help!

An OBA28 pop up appears telling me the request cannot be completed straight away and I have to wait 4 days. But nothing changes after 4 days.

Thanks for bringing this one to our attention, ItsMowTime.

Can you share with me the name of your financial institution? If it's Barclays bank, certain bank features are only available after 10 days of registering for mobile banking. You'll get an OBA19 or OBA28 error code if you try to use a specific feature within those 10 days.

As a workaround, you can log in to your QuickBooks account using your computer or mobile browser. From there, you can reauthorize your bank permission. You'll need to utilize the PINsentry token to connect your bank successfully.

You can refer to the following articles below for further information on the connection procedure and categorising your transactions:

In addition, I've included this resource to ensure your QuickBooks account matches your bank or credit card statement balance: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you need further assistance with banking. I'm always here to back you up.

Thanks for the reply. Additional information...

- The account I'm trying to reauthorise is a Barclays account.

- 10 days have passed and it still won't update transactions. The pop up says I may have to wait up to 4 days.

- this is really annoying!

Welcome back, ItsMowTime.

I understand how you feel, especially when you have to wait a few more days to reauthorize your bank account. I can provide addition information on how to update bank feeds in QuickBooks Online

If you used PINsentry to access your online banking, you can change the authentication process on how QuickBooks connects to passcode and memorable phrases. This way, you won't have to wait for another 10 days to reauthorise your bank connection. I'll show you the step-by-step process.

Step 1:Login to Barclays Online Banking:

  1. Log in to your Barclays Online Banking account on a browser using a PINsentry.
  2. From the homepage, go to the dropdown menu under your name. then select My details.
  3. Click Set up my 5-digit passcode and memorable word.
  4. Enter your details and Save.

Step 2: Disconnect Barclays account in QuickBooks:

  1. Using a browser, log in to your QuickBooks account.
  2. Go to the Banking menu, select Banking.
  3. Click the Edit pencil icon, then choose Edit account info.
  4. Checkmark the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  5. Once done, hit Save and Close.

Before disconnecting your bank account, please ensure there's no pending transaction under the For Review tab.

Step 3: Reconnect Barclays bank account:

  1. From the Banking page.
  2. Select Add account or Link account.
  3. Search for Barclays bank or you can enter your bank's URL in the search box.
  4. Since you've already configured Barclays online banking to passcode and memorable phrases, select this option to connect Barclays bank.
  5. Enter the necessary information and follow the onscreen steps to successfully reconnect your bank.

This should do the trick, you can now use your app to access your banking page.

Once bank feeds are updated, you can now proceed to categorise and match your transactions. Please refer to this guide for the complete details: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

If you need further assistance with bank feeds, simply add any details below, and I'll get back with more information. Happy weekend.
