Question

add/delete a subaccount status in Quickbooks Online

I want to change the account type for a few of my accounts.  The instructions say to deselect the subaccount status of the subaccounts under the parent account and then select the parent account and change the account type.  Once the account type has been changed for the parent account, then I select each subaccount once again and select the Is a subaccount box.  When I click to edit the account, the next screen that pops up does not show a subaccount box to deselect.  Appreciate suggestions on how to resolve.

Hello there, @MG651. Welcome to QuickBooks Community and hope you're doing well.

I'd like to provide some information about it. Do you mean that the Is sub-account box is missing? You can take a look at the sample screenshot below for additional reference:

The Is-subaccount box always appears in the Account window. What we can do is to isolate this one by opening your company in a private window or incognito mode. This is a special mode that deletes the history of any visited websites visited and will not save the information collected along the way.

You can use any of these keyboard shortcuts to access one:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

If it works, go back to the regular browser and clear its cache. However, you can use another supported browser if you get the same result.

I'm also adding these articles for reference:
