Thanks for the quick response, duncan-robertson.

Allow me to step in for a moment and share some information about importing transactions from QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can only transfer bank transactions from other sources going to your QBSE account. All you have to do is use the Import feature.

To import the data via .CSV file:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top, then choose Imports.
  2. In the right hand, choose Import older transactions.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Choose Import.

To ensure you stay on top of the tax returns, make sure to categorise the downloaded transactions. You can refer to the About SA103F Categories article for detailed information.

In regard to the other data, you still have to manually enter them in your account.

Feel free to come back if there's anything else I can help you with. I'm always ready to assist  further. Wishing you the best.

Hi there, duncan-robertson,

Thanks for posting your question in the Intuit Community! I'd be happy to answer your post.

If you’re referring to adding QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) subscription into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account, it’s currently not an option since these products are two different versions of QuickBooks.

You can check out QuickBooks products comparison for more information: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/uk/pricing/.

However, if you mean something else, please let me know. I'm always here to answer it for you.

Yes I am referring to adding QBSE to my current subscription of QBOnline Essentials, surprised to learn it’s not a plug-in. If I purchase a separate subscription of QBSE in addition to my current  QBO subscription can I import/batch transfer the relevant data from QBO to QBSE to auto populate my tax date for returns etc. or do I have to type in the relevant data from QBO to QBSE manually?
