Difference between Account Email and User Email

I am curious about how QBO works. When you first sign up to a set of books/Company it is done so with an email. Does that email serve as the Account email for that Company/set of books? Is that account email the email of the Master Admin? What if the Master Admin user changes the email under Manage users in QBO after login? What happens if the Master Admin user changes the user credentials in intuit page? What if there are multiple users in QBO? In that case which email is adopted to serve as the Account email for that Company/set of books? What if email of Company/set of books is changed under Account Settings?

Please reply for my understanding.

Yes, what you've mentioned above are all correct. With regards to the User ID and email address in your Intuit account page, they will have the same information after signing in.

If you want to have a different User ID, you can just change it by going through the Sign in & security menu. Here's how:

  1. Log in to accounts.intuit.com, then go to the Sign in & security menu at the left pane.
  2. Click the User ID section to change it.
  3. Enter your password, then hit Save to complete.

Just in case, I'll add this article for future reference: Update or change your Intuit Account sign-in information.

You have me to help you understand how the email addresses work in QuickBooks, HAM9000_8.

The account email and the email address under the Manage users page work differently.

The account email address is the one who'll be receiving any notification from Intuit while the other email is used when logging in to your QuickBooks account.

Yes. You're correct. The email you use when signing up serves as your account email for your QuickBooks account. That being said, it will also be the email address of the Master Admin.

If you change the email address under the Manage users page, the account email will not be affected or vice versa.

If you change any user credentials in the Intuit page, it will also reflect on your QuickBooks Online account.

If you have multiple users, you'll have to use a different email address since the system won't allow you to enter the same email.

If I understand you correctly, the user credentials in accounts.intuit.com page are the same credentials required to log in to the qbo.intuit.com log in page to access set of books and it is the same information linked to the Account of the Company provided the user was the one who first created the QBO Account (Master Admin).

Having said the above, what appears on the Manage Users page inside QBO after set up has no bearing on the above even if one changes the Master Admin information under Manage Users.

If above understanding is not correct please elaborate with in depth examples.

Also User ID and Email address in accounts.intuit page have identical information after initial sign up (How can user ID be the same as Email address?). It is confusing.
