Question

How can I, as a Bookkeeper registered as Sole Trader and using the QBO Accountant license for my own business, see my Income Tax in QBO?

Thanks for joining us here on the Community, anette-premium-c 👋

The Income Tax feature is currently exclusive to QuickBooks Online plans (including Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus) and can be enabled during the company set-up by selecting the option for 'Sole Trader' under 'What type of business do you have?' or by selecting the option for 'Sole proprietor' within the company settings (Cog > Account & settings > Company > Company type). 🙂

Hi Georgia C, Thank you, I am aware that it is available in all the other plans. When will it be available to the Accountant Online plan? With MTD for income tax around the corner there will be many Sole Trader Accountants and Bookkeepers who will need this feature and it seems crazy to having to add your own business as a Client with a separate license just to be able to use the Income Tax feature.

Hello anette-premium-c, There are no immediate plans to enable the income tax feature in QB Accountant, currently it is linked to the business type in company settings in QBO, we have checked the beta testing updates and nothing is planned yet however we can reply back on this thread if we get any updates in the coming months as things ramp up for Self Employed MTD.
