The process for canceling your QuickBooks Online (QBO) subscription varies depending on where you initially signed up. If you purchased your account online directly from Intuit, you can follow these detailed steps to ensure a smooth cancellation: 

 

  1. Open a web browser on your computer, not a mobile device.
  2. Sign in to QuickBooks Online as an admin user.
  3. Go to Settings and select Subscriptions and billing.

    Note: If you don't see the Subscriptions and billing tab, then you bought QuickBooks through a mobile app store. See the steps for your device below.
  4. In the QuickBooks section, choose Cancel subscription or Cancel online. If you're cancelling a trial, click Cancel trial.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps.

 

After canceling your account, your data will be retained for a period of one year before it is permanently deleted. This policy is designed to provide you with peace of mind, allowing you to pick up right where you left off should you decide to return to the platform in the future.
