Question

I can't see how to sign out of QBOL.How should I do this ?Or should I just close the browser window ?

I assume that the letter in a blue circle on the top right of the QBOL window means "me", and clicking on this is meant to pull down a menu which would have a sign-out option.   But when I click on this button, the screen goes grey and no pull-down menu appears.

I'm delighted to have you here today, @S400.

You're right. The blue circle with the letter inside on the top-right corner inside QuickBooks Online (QBO) company file is where you can log out of your company. You're supposed to see the Sign out of QBO or Manage your Intuit Accounts. Since you're unable to log out, it looks like this has something to do with your browser's temporary internet files. These temporary internet files may speed up and improve your browsing experience, but too many of them can cause your operation to slow down or be stuck.

We can perform some basic browser troubleshooting to rule out the possibility of being in this situation. You'll want to access your account in an incognito or private browser. You can use these shortcut keys:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

Once done, try to access your account and see if the option is available. If it works and you're able to get through, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache. Refer to this article for the steps: Clear cache and cookies to fix issues when using QuickBooks Online.

You can also use other compatible browsers if the issue persists. Refer to this article to see the list of compatible browsers in QuickBooks Online: Other browsers.

Furthermore, here's an article to help you manage your company's information: Change your company name, contact info, or Companies House Registration Number (CRN) in QuickBooks Online

@S400, you can mention me in the comment section below if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns. As always, I've got you covered. I'll be here to help you out again. Take care, and have a good one!
