My email address has changed - I've changed it in Account & Settings & it's now correct in Manage Users, but the old address still comes up on sign in page - why?

My old email address will be deleted soon, so I need to ensure QBs only uses my new one.

I'm happy to have you here in the Community today, @amprecisionaccou. I'd be glad to share some insights about your concern so you can get through this and access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account without worrying that QBO might not recognise your new email address.

 

One possible reason why your old email address still appears on the sign in page is that you may have ticked the box for Remember Me. Your browser or the site remembers your sign-in credentials whenever you check the box for Remember Me on the sign-in page. To get rid of the old email address, you can consider clearing your browser's cache, as this will remove all your temporary data and internet files.

 

If you're using google, here's how:

 

  1. At the top right, select the More icon.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Privacy and security.
  4. Select Cookies and other site data.
  5. Select See all cookies and site data.
  6. Type 'intuit' in the search bar to find Intuit cookies.
  7. Select Remove all shown or the trash can icon.
  8. Restart Google Chrome for the changes to take effect.

Additionally, to avoid automatically saving your credentials, you can turn off the Save and fill in basic info in your browser. For Microsoft edge users, here's how:

 

  1. At the top right, select the More icon.
  2. Go to Settings, and then select Profile.
  3. Click Personal info, and then turn off Save and fill basic info.
  4. Once done, proceed to access your QBO account.
