Question

My log in now asks for authentication from an email code which I enter, it then takes me to asking for a text code too. How do I simply log in?

Your security is our top priority, info1959. Let me share some details about the two-factor authentication in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

One of the reasons why you're being asked to verify using a code sent to your mobile phone is that you've enabled the two-step verification. This is to make sure that you're the one accessing your account and this also turns off the usual multi-factor authentication.

If you opt out of this feature, we'll still ask you to verify the first time you sign in on an unrecognised device. Follow these steps to turn it off if you're still using the same phone number:

  1. Sign in to your Intuit Account.
  2. Tap Sign in & security.
  3. Click 2-step verification.
  4. Turn off the Use 2-step verification switch.
  5. Enter your account password, then select Continue.

Otherwise, go to this article and click the If you're using a different phone number dropdown: Verify your QuickBooks Online account with multi-factor authentication or two-step verification.

Nonetheless, I'm attaching these resources that can efficiently guide you in supervising your account:

Please comment below if you have other questions about disabling the two-step verification in QBO. I'll be right here to help.
