Hi there, Hayley.

I have some details to share to help with your question about the two versions of QuickBooks.

QBSE is specifically designed to self-employed individuals and freelancers. Its main feature is to help you track your business transactions, mileage or business trips, and tax info. It can also help you maximise your business deductions to help you complete your Self Assessment for Income Tax return.

You can read more details about how the program works here: QuickBooks Self-Employed Overview.

QBO on the other hand is designed for small business in general who need the following features:

  • Payroll
  • Bills and Bill Payments
  • Quotes and invoicing
  • Track VAT
  • Multicurrency
  • Customized reports
  • Project profitability and budgeting
  • Cash and accrual accounting
  • Manage Construction Industry Scheme obligations

With regards to your invoices, there's a menu that would let you access them in QuickBooks Online. Let me share these steps with you:

  1. Go to the Sales and expenses menu.
  2. Select Invoices
