Hi GPS boiler Tec, if your subscription is paid via a third party such as Apple or Google Play you'll first need to cancel this within your app store and then wait for this to expire, which will be on your next regular billing date. Once cancelled, please re-subscribe by signing into your account through a web browser (not the app) - this will place you on Intuit billing which will automatically unlock the 'My accountant' feature. No data will be lost during this process. 👩‍💻

Hi- did this work? I’m having the same issue.
Im concerned that cancelling my subscription will lose all of my records.

Thanks for informing us about this, @allpawsamy. I'll help you get in touch with our QB Assistant so you can proceed to add your accountant.

To start, here's how:

On a web browser:

  1. Select Assistant from the top bar.
  2. Ask general questions like “How can I add my accountant into my account or “Is there a way to add an accountant in QuickBooks Self-Employed?"

On iOS:

  1. Tap the + button on the dashboard. Then select Ask QB Assistant.
  2. Ask general questions like “How can I add my accountant into my account or “Is there a way to add an accountant in QuickBooks Self-Employed?"

Additionally, I've got you these articles for future reference:
