Hello there, @kathrynnewman-li.

Let me help you perform some troubleshooting steps so you can connect your Metro Bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you can have a real-time view of all your finances and cash flow.

With Metro Bank, you'll need to enter your user ID and password when you connect your account and/or update new transactions. Their connection to QBO is available using Strong Customer Authentication (SCA).

You can read this article for more details about Open Banking in QBO: Understanding if you can connect your bank feeds to Open Banking.

For the time being, I'm unable to find open investigations related to Metro Bank. Based on your description of the issue above, it seems that you have corrupted or damaged webpage data. This is due to the browser's collection of data over time from frequent page visits. To fix this, you can perform some troubleshooting steps.

You can start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, go to the Banking menu and connect your Metro Bank account. You can refer to this article for the step-by-step guide: Connect your bank feeds using Open Banking.

If it works, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Once you have connected your account to Open Banking, you'll be invited to re-authorise the connection on the Banking page in QuickBooks every 90 days.

When everything is all set, QuickBooks automatically downloads your latest transactions. All you have to do is match them with the ones you've already entered in QuickBooks. You can visit this article for the complete guide: Categorise online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Also, I would encourage you to reconcile your accounts every month. Doing so will let you monitor your transactions and detect any possible errors accordingly. You may check out this article as your reference: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please keep me posted on how it goes in the comments below. If you have other banking concerns or questions about managing transactions in QBO, I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @kathrynnewman-li.
