I'll help make sure you can connect your bank, @jeremy-aloevets-.

The following are the possible reasons why you're unable to connect your Investec Bank in QuickBooks:

  • Some banks have multiple names on our list.
  • The bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • The bank may not be a participating financial institution.

First, let's try using other keywords or links to locate your bank. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Connect account if this is your first time connecting it to online banking. Otherwise, choose Link account.
  3. Enter your bank name or URL on the search bar, and then choose your bank from the list.
  4. Type your username and password, and then select Continue.
  5. Follow the on-screen steps connect.
  6. Click Connect once done.

If none of these work, you can contact your bank to request they establish a connection with Intuit. For the detailed steps, please see Step 3 in this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

When you're ready, you can start categorising and matching your entries to ensure they're accounted for correctly and prevent any duplicates.

Hi

I am considering switching to Investec.

Could you sort out your bank feed in the end?

That would be a deal breaker for me.

Thanks

Trying out QB, and would really like to use it, but having experienced the same issues as described in this string of messages, above, not sure if it is worth it. Also experienced error 102, and 185. Has the issue been resolved in linking QB to Investec Bank?

Hi there, @jdup. It's nice to see you here in the Community. I can help you troubleshoot the error you've encountered so you can proceed to connect your Investec bank to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

For error 102, you'll want to manually update your bank connection. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
  2. Go to Bookkeeping and select Transactions.
  3. Go to Banking (Take me there) and select Update.

In case the issue persists, you'll want to check your  bank or credit card's website to make sure everything is working on their end. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.

If you can sign in, I recommend reaching out to your bank's support team. This way, they'll help you login to your bank account.

I first started posting about this problem with Investec bank in 2020 and Quickbooks still don't have a solution? Each time you tell people to do the same things that have not worked before.

Please post a correct solution once you have discussed and sorted this problem out with Investec Bank

Hello there, @dewaldvisser. I'm here to provide additional information about your banking issue in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I've checked your concern and found out that there's an ongoing investigation (INV-77269) about getting error 163 when connecting the Investec bank account to QBO. The error most often indicates that there is a change to your Financial Institution's website. Rest assured that our product engineers are aware of this and doing everything they can to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

In the meantime, I highly recommend reaching out to our Customer Care team to add your account to the list of affected users. This way, you'll get updated about the status of the investigation. Here's how:

  1. In your QBO account, click the Help menu.
  2. Then, select the Search tab and choose Contact us.
  3. Next, type a brief description of your concern and select Continue.
  4. From there, choose either Chat or Call to connect to them.

Please let me know if you have any other banking concerns. I'm always here in the Community and ready to lend a hand. Have a great day ahead and keep safe.
