Bank Connection

Hi- pretty new to QB. I've connected my bank however stupidly didn't take note of the start date to bring banking transactions in from until I'd clicked download. 

 

Is there anyway I can take the start date further back without redoing all the matched transactions for the past year?

 

The bank account has been open for two years, however I'm certain the first year hasn't been included as I haven't seen all of the transactions

Hello Charlie, Thanks for contacting the Community. If you do not wish to remove any connection and re-upload(which would require checking for duplicates and excluding them) you can upload a CSV file with the first year of transactions on (downloaded from your online banking and saved to your pc) we have included a link on how to do that here  That is the best option for the first year of transactions, it should allow you on your bank website to filter by a custom date range if not you can upload onto CSV past 2 years and then delete the extra transactions in bulk before saving the file and then upload it to QB. Thank you Emma,

 

 I'm stumped now as QB won't recognise the .csv or .qfx files I've downloaded from HSBC.

 

I wonder if just easier to clear off everything and start again with the bank download?

 

It's probably only 250 transactions in total

Hi Charlie, thanks for coming back to us, when you say it doesn't recognise the format are you saying that nit is just not uploading it into your QB account. Have you done the csv file format correctly with either just 3 or 4 columns and that is it. If there is extra columns then it will not upload for you. If you have a look at this link here it shows you what it needs to be layed out as in order for it to upload into your QB account for you. If you have extra columns then you will need to delete them out and re save it show it just has the columns we need. Any questions please get back to us. It is up to you if you want to clear it all off and start again.
