Let me help you connect your bank account to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) , lalmerriman.

If this bank is already connected before and it isn't downloading transactions, you need to check their website.

Any display issues, messages, notifications, alerts, or new security requirements can block QuickBooks from downloading transactions. You can log into the bank's website and check or update.

Once done, go back to your QBSE account and select Refresh all. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Bank accounts under Transactions
  3. Click Refresh all

Go to the Transactions menu and start categorizing those newly downloaded transactions. For more guidance, check out this article: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If it's your first time connecting the bank account, make sure your financial institution supports online banking to QuickBooks. If not, you can send a request to your bank.

Here's how:

  1. Select the profile ⚙ icon and then Bank accounts.
  2. Type your bank into the search box.
  3. Select Request to add your bank.
  4. Enter the bank name, bank URL, and your email address.
  5. Select Submit.

For now, you can download transactions from your bank and import them manually to QBSE.
