Hi,

I have an issue with bank of scotland bank feed balance  for credit card  appearing as credit card credit rather than a charge.

This means on the balance sheet all my other bank feeds for credit cards come in and correctly show themselves as apositive number in the liabilites section however bank of scotland appears as a negative.

anybody experienced this or solved it?

Thank you in advance if you have and you want to share

Hi McGrant, could you check what the Type and also the Detail Type is of the account within the Chart of Accounts? Is it showing as a Credit Card? Thanks

Yes it is set as credit card and the detail type is also a credit card.

all my other credit cards work properly just bank of scotland ones that do this.

This might be another clue i tried yesterday to import it as account type bank and it appears as positive in the bank as well ( i was hoping it might appear as a negative and at least i would get the correct overall balance between my bank and credit cards)

    That certainly does appear strange.

One thing that might be causing this would be the connection type that has been selected during the initial set up. Bank of Scotland have two common connections available within QuickBooks Online, Bank of Scotland (Personal and Credit Card) and Bank of Scotland - Business Banking - Internet Banking.

If the wrong connection has been used, it could result in the data being read as a current account instead of a credit card, thereby switching debits to credits and vice versa.

I would suggest disconnecting the banking feed for this account and reconnecting using the Bank of Scotland (Personal and Credit Card) connection type. I've included the steps below for your assistance.

    1. In QuickBooks, click Banking in the left-hand navigation, and select the affected Bank account
    2. Click the "pencil" icon to the right of the bank name, select 'Edit account Info' button
    3. In the Account box, scroll to the bottom and tick 'Disconnect this account on save'
    4. Hit Save and Close to complete the process.

You can then return to Banking and click on Add Account to reconnect the credit card.

Let me know if you need anything further :)
