I have just started using quickbooks and want to connect my sumup business account. Is this not possible as it does not appear in the list when attempting to connect?

It's great to have you here today, Butterflies.

I'll be sharing some troubleshooting options so you can find your bank account when connecting to online banking in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

If you're unable to locate or connect to your bank, it's possible that:

  • We have several names from your bank on our list. Check that you have chosen the correct listing or tried all potential connections. To guarantee that you're using the appropriate listing, search by the banking sign-in URL.
  • Your bank doesn't provide access to all types of accounts. (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

You can start by looking up your bank. Ensure the spelling is exactly as it appears on the bank's website. You can also input the URL for your bank or search for it using specific names.

For the full details, please see this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

Furthermore, I recommend reconciling your accounts monthly to ensure they correspond to your bank statements.
