It's nice to see you here, @timneysweep-hotm. Let me provide some insights about connecting bank accounts in QuickBooks.

Yes, you can use and connect your personal bank in QuickBooks Online. However, we don't recommend mixing the business and personal transactions to avoid legal issues or problems with record keeping.

Also, keep in mind that if you connect your bank, you'll see your personal expenses. Personal expenses are those expenses that you incur outside and unrelated to your business.

I'd also recommend consulting your accountant on this matter. They'll give you an idea of what's the best for your business transactions.

In case you want to connect your bank account to QuickBooks, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Select Banking.
  3. Click Connect account.
  4. Search for your bank and select Continue. Read through the terms and conditions, then select Agree.
  5. Follow the steps on your bank's internet banking page to authorise QuickBooks to connect to your bank account. Once you authorise the connection, you’ll be redirected back to QuickBooks.
  6. Choose the bank accounts you want to connect, and which accounts they will link to in QuickBooks.
  7. Choose the date you wish QuickBooks to pull transactions from.
  8. Tap Connect

Once you have connected your account, you'll be invited to reauthorise the connection on the Banking page every 90 days. Simply follow the steps on how to reauthorise your bank connection to get back on track. For more details, see this article: Connect your bank feeds to QuickBooks Online.

I've added this article that will guide your banking process like categorising, reconciliation, and fixing bank errors in QuickBooks: Online Banking guide for QuickBooks Online.

I'm right here together with my colleagues to help if you have any other concerns with QuickBooks. We'll be around. Take care and stay safe always.
