Thanks for joining on this thread, @jayne-savanna-in.

Connecting your bank account is my top priority. That way, you can manage and track your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Stored cache files on your browser can sometimes cause a problem like being able to connect bank in QBO. With this, I'd recommend doing fundamental troubleshooting steps to isolate the problem. We can begin by accessing your account in incognito. These browsers won't save any browsing histories.

Feel free to use these shortcut keys:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once logged in, re-connect the bank to verify it's already performing adequately. Please ensure to choose the exact bank URL because some banks have multiple names on our list. For more details, check out this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

If you're able to do so, we'll have to go back to your normal browser and clear the cache to drop the junk files. Using other supported browsers is a good option also.

Once the bank account is connected, your recent transactions will automatically be downloaded into the system. After that, categorise the data to avoid any duplicates.

If there's no progress, I'd advise importing the data using a comma-separated values (CSV) file as a workaround. That way, you can categorise and reconcile your accounts whenever you’re ready.

Here's how:

  1. Download the data from your bank.
  2. Go to the Banking tab, then click the Link account drop-down.
  3. Choose the Upload from file button.
  4. Tap Browse, then hit Next
  5. Pick the account in the QuickBooks account box and click Next
  6. Match them properly and tap Let's go

For more information, check out this article: Manually upload transactions.

I've also added some articles about handling bank transactions, fixing some errors., and other topics.

Additionally, can you please let me know your bank's name and if you receive any error while connecting your bank account? This way, I can double-check our reports if we have an open case about connecting accounts in the UK region.

I'll be waiting for your response. I want to ensure your bank account is connected for you to save time. Take care always.
