Hello, BBClothing.

I'm on the case in helping you fix the error message when connecting your Santander bank account.

Can I ask what specific error you received when you tried to connect to Santander? More details definitely help. This way, I'll narrow down the issue and lay down the necessary steps to help you connect your account.

In the meantime, I'll share some steps that'll help you fix the error message and connect with your Santander account.

The error code is likely caused by a cache-related issue in the browser. In such cases, you'll want to use a private or incognito window to confirm this. Use the following shortcut keys to access it:

  • Google Chrome: Press CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N.
  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P.

Log in to your QuickBooks Self-Employed account, then connect Santander again. When you're able to connect it, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache (the hyperlink herein points to the Online version but it also works for Self-Employed). This removes the cache data that's causing the issue.

Alternatively, we can also use another supported browser to connect your account.

If you're using the mobile app, there's likely a component or a connection issue that's causing the error message. In this cause, you'll want to uninstall and reinstall the app to fix it.

Although, the error can also be caused by an issue within the bank's website. I'd recommend checking Santander's website to see if there are any maintenance updates.

It's also worth checking and see if there are any alerts in your account that might cause the issue.

After connecting your account, you can start categorising it for your records. Need help with the process? Check out this article for a guide: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed

I'm still looking forward to your reply, but if you have any other concern regarding your records, let me know and I'll help you out.
