Repeatedly getting error 590 when attempting to connect to Capital One (UK).

This problem has been going on for a number of days now, have disconnected and reconnected bank feed, have also done this in multiple browser, incognito mode and everything else online support mentions.

Any other suggestions or is this a known problem Quickbooks are working on?

Good day, @John738. I admire the actions you took to successfully link your bank to QuickBooks Online. I'll provide you with some information about the connection error you experienced and direct you to our support staff so they can add you to the list of people who are experiencing problems.

 

Upon checking, it turns out that there is an ongoing inquiry of Error 590 that occurs while attempting to link a Capital One bank account to QBO. Our product engineers have been informed and are now working on a fix. I therefore advise getting in touch with our support staff. They can then include you on the list of people who are affected in this way. You'll be alerted by email when the solution becomes available.

 

Here are the steps to contact us:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to Help (?).
  3. In QB Assistant, enter the topic you need help with. You can also enter questions.
  4. Select the Search tab, then click on Contact Us.
  5. Choose a way to connect with us:
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

In the meantime, I suggest uploading your bank transactions manually. First off, you must download the transactions from your bank's website in a file that QBO supports, like a CSV file. For more details, see this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. Once uploaded, you can review the entries and match them with transactions you've already entered into QuickBooks. Feel free to pin these articles for the detailed steps of the process:

My bank is connected online but it hasn't brought in all the transactions for July 23 only part of the month.

How do I bring in the missing transactions ?

Having a problem with re connection of the bank account to Monzo- it lets me sign in and then when it sends you back to QuickBooks it doesn’t load the page. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello SJs Pantry, thanks for psoting on this thread, are you getting any error messages or codes come up at all? Have you tried to do the connections on different devices, network, web browsers also in a private/incognitio window to see if any of those work and connect it for you if not please get back to us.

Hi, having unlinked my Metrobank connection as requested by QB I can't reconnected it, I get the message.

 

This page isn’t working

api-public.metrobankonline.co.uk didn’t send any data.

Is this likely to be a temporary issue or does something need fixing within QB or MB.

Hello Socket, thanks for posting on this thread, so it looks like your bank is making changes. "Your Bank is making a change. Until you upgrade your bank connection, your transactions will stop automatically flowing into QuickBooks. To upgrade your connection, you will need to reconnect your account. (390)" This article has more information.

Thanks for your reply, I got the message that I need to reconnect my account, that's what I was trying to do, I go through the process, search for MetroBank, chose the business account that I have, accept the terms and conditions and then pops up a separate window and it should prompt me to sign in and it's at that point that I get the message, so I can't sign in to reconnect the account.

Trying to upload a CSV file to quickbooks self employed. Message says doesnt contain any valid data when I try and upload it. Have removed one column from the bank csv file so now in order its date, description, amount, then the other stuff and it still wont take it. Now what please?

Hi Nicole LS, please try copy and pasting the three columns into a blank document to import and remove any zeroes (0) from the file (leave those cells blank). Check that the dates are in one format - we recommend you use: dd/mm/yyyy. If you're using a Mac, save the file as a Windows CSV file. Hope this helps!

Ive been trying to connect to Nationwide for 6 months. I keep getting the error code 590 and it wont connect. Its very frustrating. I go into the Nationwide account and it says I am connected to Intuit so the problem is definitely with Quickbooks not Nationwide.

Hi guygilbert, thanks for joining this thread. We don't currently have any reported issues for Nationwide with our banking team. The 590 errors typically don't last longer than 48 hours and should self-resolve on their own.

I have been trying to connect to Nationwide Building Society for the past 2 days, and keep getting the unexpected error message.
