Question

Connection Expired error on the iOS app (bank accounts are syncing fine).

Does anyone know how to fix the "Connection expired" error in the iPhone iOS app? The bank accounts are actually syncing correctly, but the error persists. When I click "Get started" it says "Looks like there are no accounts linked". Phone support was less than useless to help with this.

Hi there, @sweetsound2001. I'll help you get rid of this error message.

To clarify, where in QuickBooks do you see the error? There may be too much historical data stored in your app that's causing this error even if your bank accounts are syncing correctly. By clearing its cache, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate.

Here's how:

  1. Launch the Settings app.
  2. Tap General, and then iPhone Storage.
  3. From the iPhone Storage screen, tap the QuickBooks Online app.
  4. Select Offload App.

If you're still getting the same error message, try accessing your account using a browser. Then, disconnect and reconnect your banks if prompted with the same message.

I'd be happy to see you here again if you need more help with updating your transactions in QuickBooks. Have a great day.
