Welcome to the Community space,sheilahutton-liv.

I can share some tips in handling that type of transaction.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed, the amount you received from the loan is usually tracked as Personal Income. Once you start paying the loan, the payment for the capital will be categorized as Repayments of loans, and the interest is tracked under Interest on banks/loans.

Although, I'd still recommend consulting an accounting professional to ensure that everything is recorded accurately. When you're ready, here's how to enter the transaction:

  1. Select Transactions from the sidebar menu.
  2. Click Add transaction.
  3. Fill out the necessary information, then select Personal under the Type column.
  4. In the Category column, select Income from the list of categories.
  5. Click Save to complete the process.

I'm also adding this article to learn more about how your categorized transaction affects your tax return: About SA103F Categories.

You can always tag me in your comments and post if you need more help in entering your other transactions. Have a pleasant day ahead.
