Question

Does anyone know if it is possible for Quickbooks to import bank statements with 3 decimal places, without it rounding the amount up or down to 2 please? And if so, how?

This is a great question, charlotte15.

I can see the importance of adding the three decimal places to the transactions associated with your account in the program. QuickBooks rounds up/down to two decimal places

As of now, the option to change the decimal format in QuickBooks Online is unavailable. In the meantime, you can only change how the amounts are displayed in the program.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under Your Company, select Account and Settings.
  3. Select Advanced.
  4. Click the pencil icon in the Other preferences section.
  5. In the Number format section, select how you'd like the numbers to show.
  6. Click Save, then Done.

Before uploading your file, check the format to avoid common errors when performing the process.

Once everything is ready, manually import the file into QuickBooks Online.
