Question

Does the bank connection work with Yorkshire Bank now? I had it running but it failed and disappeared off the list. Its now back but will not connect.

After going through the log on and re-authorise process I get told "The old bank connection no longer works, and a fresh new one's ready for you", so I reconnect and go round in the same loop again and get no connection.

There are a few possible reasons why you’re unable to connect in QuickBooks Online. 

  • Your bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Your financial institution's credentials set up in QBO is incorrect.

You can check your bank's website to verify if the issue is on your bank's end. by getting your bank's URL.

 

Here's how: 

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Select Add Account. You won’t add an account, you just need the listed URL).
  3. Search for your bank and select it.
  4. Copy the URL listed in the window.
  5. Sign in using your bank username and password. Some banks have multiple sign-in URLs. Make sure you’re using the one listed in QuickBooks.

Once you're able to sign in, you can follow the steps below.

  1. Check your account page for messages, notifications, or alerts. Any display or sign in issues on your bank’s website can potentially block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions.
  2. Check your bank’s website for any announcements about new security requirements.
  3. If everything looks good, go back to the Banking menu.
  4. Select the blue tile for the bank account.
  5. Click Update.
