Question

Hello All. It seems that when I uploaded my CSV files last year, I entered the debits and credits the wrong way around.Does anyone know how to fix this?

I've got a way how you can fix this, zac-zenzyc-io.

You can exclude and then delete the transactions. Once deleted, fix the file to re-import them into QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. From the Banking screen select the relevant bank, then select For review tab.
  2. Tick the transactions you want to exclude, then select Batch actions and then Exclude selected
  3. Select the Excluded tab.
  4. Tick the transactions you want to Delete
  5. Select Batch action.
  6. Click on Delete

When importing your bank transactions, ensure to consider these factors:

  • Make sure the file is in a CSV (comma-separated values) format.
  • Ensure to save your data as a CSV or Comma delimited.
  • Check if the file has blank lines if it does delete them.
  • Please make sure to select the column header labels (from the dropdowns) that match the column header labels in your CSV file.
  • Your CSV file should contain the following information: DateDescription, and Amount.

Then, re-import the CSV file. For detailed steps and some tips before you begin importing, check this out: Import bank transactions from .CSV to QuickBooks
