Question

Hello, Can we configure the dashboard current cash balance as it currently shows zero and has been even though there is cash in to the bank. Do you know why this is?

I got you, agams.

Let me walk you through how to verify your QuickBooks Cash Flow transactions and troubleshoot the issue you're experiencing.

You'll want to check your bank register if there are funds posted on the account. For the synced transactions, QuickBooks automatically categorizes as many, if not all, QuickBooks Cash transactions as possible. You need to periodically go to the Banking menu and categorize your QuickBooks Cash transactions.

One possible reason for the zero balance in your Cash Flow page can be the browser’s cache. These cache files can sometimes become corrupted, which affects the platform's functionalities. We can verify this by logging in to your QuickBooks Online account in a private or incognito browser. From there, check your bank register and see if the balances are posted correctly. You can refer to the shortcut keys I've listed below on how to open on:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Safari: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift + P

If it shows up, go back to your main browser and then clear its cache to start fresh. You can use other supported browsers if the same thing happens.

Here’s are a few references that provide further information on how to manage Cash Flow in QuickBooks. This includes tips and details on what causes cash flow issues. You can also refer to the resources I've attached above to get started and track cash flow.
