Question

Hi. I have imported transactions from my PayPal account but the Bank Balance is incorrect. My actual balance is £101.21, but Quickbooks shows it as £-101.21.

The account is an automatic feed and should cover transactions from the day it started.

Welcome and thanks for posting in the Community, @support40.

 

When importing CSV files for credit card (CC) accounts such as PayPal may display transactions in reverse. To ensure that they will be posted correctly, you must select the corresponding CC account (not a bank account) in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Here's how:

 

  1. In QBO, go to the Banking menu at the left pane to get to the Banking page.
  2. Select File upload at the right, then tick Browse. 
  3. Pick the file you downloaded from your bank.
  4. Click Open, then Next.
  5. In the QuickBooks Account drop-down list, choose the credit card account then Next.
  6. Select a Date, date format, Description, and Account, then Next again.
  7. Pick the checkboxes of the transactions to import and hit Next.
  8. Click Yes and Let's go! once completed.

    I should clarify that this is automated connection to the PayPal account. Does your solution still apply? thanks.

    Thanks for getting back to us, @support40.

     

    Yes, the resolution presented by my peer above still apply. You'll need to make sure that the transactions were linked in the correct account specific for PayPal.

     

    Once verify that everything is accurate, I suggest contacting our Customer Care Team. They have the tools to check on your imported transactions and help verify on why your balance is showing as negative.
