How do I set up a starting balance?

Are you trying to enter a starting or opening balance for a bank account? If so, you'll need to create a journal entry. Let me show you how:

1. At the top, click the Create menu (+) and select Journal Entry.

2. Enter the desired date.

3. Debit the bank account.

4. Credit the Opening Balance Equity account.

5. Click Save and Close.
