I have a shop & want to enter my takings at daily. How do I do this, I used to enter into QB desktop into the cash account but can't see how with QB online?

You can use sales receipts to report the sales made for the day in QuickBooks. There are just a few things to do before you get started. Follow these steps I've outlined for you:

Set up a Daily Sales Account:

1. From the Gear icon, select Chart of Accounts.
2. Press New then set up these accounts:

Set up category for daily takings:

1. Still on the Gear icon, go to All Lists.
2. Choose Product Categories then New Category.
3. Enter a new category called "Daily Sales."
4. Hit Save.

Create the sales items:

1. Tap the Gear icon then Products and Services.
2. Press New at the top right.
3. Complete the item details.
    

Here is an example of how an item should be set up in the Products & Services List:

Once done, you can press the + New button on the Dashboard then select Sales Receipt. Enter the daily sales item and all necessary information before saving.
