Thank you for contacting us about connecting your SumUp card machine and the bank card to QuickBooks, uniquebeautynoir.

You can only connect the bank card for the SumUp card payments. QuickBooks will automatically download transactions and help categorise them for you.

To connect your bank card:

  1. Select the profile icon and then select Bank accounts.
  2. In the search box, enter the name or URL of your bank, then select Continue
  3. Enter the sign-in info you use for your bank's website.
  4. When you’re ready, select Connect.

Please know that QuickBooks works with thousands of banks. If you can't find your bank or credit card, here are some tips for finding it.

You can also manually add transactions that don't go through your bank.

Once your transactions are downloaded automatically, all you need to do is review and categorise them. I'm adding this link to guide you through the process: Categorise transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Stay connected with me if you have additional questions about connecting the Sumup account. I'm always right here to help you.

Hi, SumUp is not available. Does it mean I need to add all sales and purchases manually?

Thank you

Hello Reyt Designs, Thanks for commenting on this thread we just need to check with you are you using the Self-Employed QuickBooks and are you based in the UK? If so yes you would have to manually enter sales and purchases. You can connect your bank account to QuickBooks to make the process quicker and also you can scan receipts on the mobile app to upload expenses quickly. Any questions or if you are in a different region or using a different product let us know. Thanks

Are there any plans to add SumUp integration. It's now a very popular shopping site and I get a regular flow of orders paid directly or on the card reader at shows. For me, it is likely to be a deal breaker as to whether I continue with Quickbooks after the initial offer period

Hi, Stuart.

Thank you for contacting us about integrating your SumUp card reader and bank card with QuickBooks. I'm happy to assist you with information on linking business bank accounts in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

If the SumUp card reader is unavailable on our list of supported Open Banking connections in QuickBooks, you can contact your bank to ask assistance from them. You also have the option to send a request to add your business bank account in QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the profile ⚙ icon and select Connect Bank.
  2. Search for the name of your financial institution. If QuickBooks cannot find your bank, you will get the message, "Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks", and you will be presented with helpful tips to try and locate your bank account.
  3. If you're still unable to find your bank, select Request.
  4. Enter your Account provider name and Account provider sign-in URL, then select Request.

For detailed information, kindly visit: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking.

In the meantime, you can manually upload your bank transactions to your self-employed account as an alternative. Once done, you can categorise your bank transactions to ensure they are allocated to the correct accounts.

Feel free to leave a reply if you require further assistance with connecting your business bank accounts in QBO. I’ll be around to help. Have a good one.
