Question

I have set up QuickBooks online for my Shopify business. I am currently setting up a2x for integration. If I launch before a2x is ready can I import historical data?

Welcome to the Community space, @userinfo79.

Yes, you can import your historical data before you launch the A2X software. However, it much better if you set up the A2X before importing.

In that way, you can include the transactions from A2X that need to be imported. For now, we can only import the following information to QBO:

  • Customers
  • Vendors
  • Accounts
  • Products and Services

To import your data, here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top to choose Import data under Tools.
  2. Then, tap the data icon to open the Import accounts page.
  3. From there, hit the Browse button and find the previously saved file.
  4. Click Open and press the Next button to continue.
  5. Next, map the information and click Next to proceed.
  6. Review the setup and choose Import when you’re ready.

You can also check this article for more details about importing data in QBO: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

In the meantime, I'm adding this article to further guide you in managing the growth of your business using QBO: QuickBooks Help Articles. It includes topics about data security, banking, and expenses, to name a few. You can click the + More topics button to view other selections.

I'll be around in case you need further assistance with importing data or any other questions about QuickBooks. Post a reply, and I'll be sure to get back to you.
