Solved

I mistakenly removed the link between a bank account and my bank. The account is still in QB, can I re-connect to the bank from the QB app?

How are you, scole1?

Yes, you can reconnect your bank from the mobile app. When QuickBooks is opened via mobile app, you'll be routed directly in the Dashborad. You may need to follow the steps below to reconnect your bank account in this new platform. Here's how:

  1. Click the Hamburger icon (three horizontal lines) at the bottom of this page.
  2. From the Shortcuts tab or All tab, select Transactions.
  3. Click the + button.
  4. Enter the name of your bank or you can copy the link from your bank's website and paste it in the field.
  5. Click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Hi there, scole1.

Yes, you can reconnect the bank from the QuickBooks app. You'll need to make sure that your bank is on the list so you're able to reconnect.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Banking.
  2. Choose Connect from the landing page, or select Add account if you've already created an account.
  3. Search for your bank. Then, select Continue. Read through the terms and conditions and then hit Agree.
  4. Follow the steps on your bank's internet banking page to authorise QuickBooks to connect to your bank account. Once you have authorised the connection, you will automatically be taken back to QuickBooks.
  5. From the QuickBooks page, choose the bank accounts you want to reconnect, and which account they will link to in QuickBooks.
  6. Hit Connect. QuickBooks is now connected to your selected bank account(s), and your transactions will be waiting for you on the Banking page.

Thanks for this. There is an issue with Barclays in updating my bank accounts in QB and which has been ongoing for several months and which I cannot resolve although I have spoken to both them numerous times and also yourselves once.

Earlier this week I used the QB app on my phone and managed to update my bank account for the first time in months - I still cannot do this from the online version, that link is still not working somewhere.

As I deleted one of my bank accounts trying to sort this issue that one did not update. My question is can I reconnect an account to the bank from the mobile app, not the online version, as I had some success already that route. I cannot see how to follow the steps you mention in the mobile app, is there a way?

Many thanks
