Question

I need help entering net card sales from card machine and matching to downloaded bank transactions. If I enter as journal with fees breakdown it doesn't show on bank?

Hello Heather

 

 

If the fees are taken prior to the amount being deposited to the account. We would normally suggest using the bank deposit function to record the transaction and fees and then you will be able to match in the banking section.

 

.Do you create an invoice/sales receipt in QuickBooks for the full amount without the fee?

 

If so it would be a case of;

 

1.Going to receive payment on the invoice/sales receipt and in the deposit to drop down selecting  to the undeposited funds account.

 

2.Then going to bank deposit in the + symbol in the top right>selecting the bank account and date the money was paid in>ticking the transaction>then on the line add funds to this deposit entering the  supplier name,expense account and amount for the fee,making sure to put a minus symbol before the amount.Then when you save it will deposit only the amount received into your bank.You can then match in the banking.

 

3.Going to banking section and then you will see a match for the amount received.
