Question

I've just imported my items, clearly marked as Type "Non-stock" but QuickBooks has classified as "Service". Is there a problem?

Let me share details about the imported items and help you modify them to their correct types, Charles.

When you import items from product and services, the non-stock type will remain as non-stock in QuickBooks Online. You may need to adjust the type when mapping it from your Transaction Pro app.

Since it's already categorized as a service, you can modify it to be non-stock. Non-stock and service items can be changed to any other type. You can also switch a service item to a stock or non-stock item.

Here's how:

  1. In QuickBooks, go to the Sales menu and choose Product and Services.
  2. Find the service item you want to change.
  3. Check the box of the items you want to be non-stock.
  4. Click the Batch actions drop-down arrow and select Make non-stock.
