It's nice to see you in the QuickBooks Community, joinerselite-bti. I'll share details how bank entries work in QuickBooks Online. I've also got instructions to ensure you can upload your transactions starting April 4th into the program.

When connecting your bank and credit card accounts, QuickBooks Online automatically downloads the latest transactions. Some financial institutions let you download the last 90 days of transactions and others can go back as far as 24 months. Since the entries only go back to July, I recommend contacting your bank to ask permission to let you set the download from the 4th of April.

However, if your bank only allows you to import the last 90 days of transactions, you have to manually upload the entries into QuickBooks. To start doing the process, you need to get the data from your bank since you already know the start date of the transaction you want to import.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow the methods on how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer. Every financial institution has different steps.
  3. Ensure the date range for the download begins at least one day before your oldest transaction.
  4. Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.

Once done, you can open this article to see additional instructions on how to complete the procedure and begin following step 3: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, refer to this article if you need steps on how to categorize downloaded entries to avoid duplicate data: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.
