Joint bank account permission

I am trying to link a joint Barclays account to my quickbooks online

it comes up with message saying it will contact other user ie wife on account

who contacts and how? Been trying to sort for weeks and the other person never uses online banking so have no idea how they are trying to contact

is there a work around?

Can we ask when is it you are seeing the message?

Is it on Quickbooks side or the bank's side when you try and do the connection?

Was this sorted? I am having the same issue.
