log in says password is incorrect

on desktop with quickbooks pro with 2 licenses and one machine is logged on but the other has been failing to log in. After shutting down and starting back up the login would work. now it fails and says password is incorrect

You have the option to reset your login password so you can access your company file successfully. I'm here to help you accomplish this.

 

To start with, you may need to configure your computer's firewall and security settings for QuickBooks. You can consider this as one of the reasons why you receive a message saying your password is incorrect.

 

Nevertheless, you can reset your password by clicking the I forgot my password link. To do so:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Desktop application.
  2. On the QuickBooks Desktop Login window, click I forgot my password.
  3. Enter the license number and your personal information.
  4. Select OK.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your new password.
