Quickbooks is linked to my bank account and it automatically downloads the transaction - usually there is a Full Description as per our upload file - this is usually the person's name. However last week and this week, the Description has come back as a single letter So instead of Susan Smith, it has returned S? We have never had this issues previously?  Any ideas? Thanks

I’m here to share some troubleshooting steps to help ensure that the full description (name) shows up when you download it in QuickBooks Online (QBO), liza-careandcomp.

First off, could you let me know the name of your Financial Institution (FI)? This will help me check if there are any known issues related to your concern.

Sometimes, when banks update their systems or formats, it can affect how data is retrieved in QBO. It’s a good idea to check with your FI to see if there have been any recent changes.

Also, keep in mind that the information we receive is based on what your bank sends us. Let’s take a look at the mapping and settings of your transactions in QBO to make sure the full description is included. This way, all the details you need will appear in your records.

Once everything is running smoothly, make sure to categorise your downloaded entries correctly and match them to the existing ones in QBO to keep your records neat and organized. If you notice any duplicates, you can easily use the Exclude function to remove them.
