Question

Monzo Sync - I have separate "pots" so I can move money aside for tax etc. but QB can't see the sum of all these pots and it looks like I've spent it. Help!

I understand how you wanted to track your transactions with Monzo Sync in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @cosmeticbrowsbyk.

Let me share additional details about how the Monzo Sync application shares transactions in QBO. Entries in your Monzo account will sync 24 hours after your first transaction settles. This means your bank feed could take a day or two to appear the entries in QBO.

In addition, QBO depends on the data shared by your Monzo Sync application. In that manner, when the sum of all the pots is reflected not in Monzo, the transaction won't show in QBO. In this case, I suggest checking it with Monzo Support first to review the money movement further. Please see their contact information through this link: Monzo FAQs.

However, if the Monzo Sync app already listed the sum of all the pots in its account statement/transaction history, I recommend refreshing the connection to load the newest transaction:

  1. Go to the Banking tab.
  2. Select Update.

  3. If asked, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Then select Continue update.

If it successfully appears, for your next step, you'd want to check how to assign, categorise, edit, and add downloaded or uploaded bank transactions in QuickBooks.

Feel free to send me updates here if you have other concerns to know about Monzo Sync and QuickBooks. I'd be delighted to assist you out more. Have a nice day ahead.
