Hi Community,

I am a brand new ProAdvisor with Quickbooks Online but unfortunately my 1st client is using Quickbooks Desktop and purchased Desktop Pro.  I am planning to start Desktop training to be certified as well. However in the mean time, I need to help my lovely client. Could you please guide me the right way??

Thank you.

Greetings, JolinMahay.

I’m happy to see one of our Quickbooks Online ProAdvisors here in the Community. I want to ensure your client’s concern about using the desktop is properly addressed.

Just to clarify, what specific processes are you trying to accomplish? While waiting for your response, I’m adding a link where you’ll find articles for each topic available in QuickBooks Desktop.

However, if you’re unable to find it, I appreciate if you can provide more details about the issue. This way, I'm able to provide you with the best resolution.

Thanks for reaching out, I look forward to hearing from you again. Wishing you the best.

In my opinion your client bought the right version but that is a personal opinion. I find desktop a lot easier to use and the picture driven menu is a lot easier to follow. The only thing I can think of that is not neccessarily in an obvious place is journal entries which are in the company drop down menu. Hopefully tour client is local and you can visit them to do their accounts, much nicer to visit a client rather than do everything remotely anyway. The client can send you a backup or an accountant's copy but you'll need the software your end too.
