It will be my pleasure to help you get to the bottom of this, userjameseajackson19.

Here are the following scenarios why you're unable connect your bank account:

  • The bank may not be a participating bank.
  • Your bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • Bank is having a system maintenance.
  • Some banks have multiple names on our list. You might want to check and select the correct one, or try all possible bank URL.

What you can do is reach to your bank and check for any maintenance update or request to establish a connection with QuickBooks. If everything is good from your bank's side, make sure to select the correct bank name when connecting the account.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions on the left panel.
  2. Select Link account or Add account
  3. In the Connect your bank or credit card to bring in your transactions field, enter the URL listed for your bank.
  4. Follow the on-screen instruction to connect your account.

I'm adding this article that includes a video tutorial: Connect your bank feed using Open Banking. If you're able to connect the account but can't update the transactions because of a bank error, you can read this article to see the solutions: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online.

You can also add the name of your bank and other details in the comments below. This way, I can check our records for any investigations. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for chiming in on this thread, Fran Winter.

I'd like to know more about your situation.

What is the exact error message you are getting when trying to link your bank in QuickBooks? This way, we can review if there's an ongoing investigation or provide you with the right solution.

For the time being, you have the option to manually upload your bank transactions. Here's an article for the instructions. Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online

Once uploaded, make sure to categorise and match your bank transactions.

I'm just a post away to help you out again. Stay safe!

I also can't connect my Monzo Bank account with you- trying it for days. Everything works until I accepted everything in my Monzo App but as soon as I go back to the Website nothing happens

Had issues with my bank accounts not connecting last week had to delete all and re-connect.  Same this happening this week.  Yes, I have called the bank and it is not on their end according to them.  This really needs to get fixed and no I do not want to have to go through so many steps to download transactions every day.  If transactions were already downloaded will they download again?  Called support and the person I got was of no help after being on the phone for and hour and half.

Hello OMG3,

What bank are you with? Also what bank account type is it? Are there any error messages or codes showing up at all? Do you use one of our Quickbooks online packages or our self employed package?

January 26, 2022

We are with Webster Bank and the error code is (102).

June 20, 2022

I am having this problem on a daily basis now with banks that were once connected and uploading no problem. I am finding this problem mostly with Envision Credit union.  All my other banks seem to disconnect daily and I am able to get them connected again.  very frustrating.

June 20, 2022

I appreciate you chiming in on this thread and posting your concern, @dneilsen71.

I'd also feel the same when my bank gets disconnected daily and suddenly reconnects again. Rest assured, I’m here to help and will address your concern about your bank connection.

There are several possible causes for your QBSE bank accounts to lose connection. Among these are:

  • The bank is having system maintenance.
  • Log-in credentials set up in QBSE don't match with the online banking login.
  • QBSE is unable to connect to your bank's website.

We can click on Refresh All multiple times on your Banking page. This way, your bank refreshes the connection between your financial institution and the QBSE.

Please see this sample screenshot below for reference:

If the same thing happens, I recommend following the basic troubleshooting steps provided by my colleague above to sort out this issue.

Also, did you encounter any error messages when your bank disconnects? Any additional information will get us closer to a resolution.

Once your bank account is connected, you can categorize the transactions to ensure your financial records are correct. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article for future reference: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Get back to me here if you have further questions about bank connections in QBSE. Tag me in your reply, and I’ll sprint back into action. Have a good one, and keep safe.

hello, i'm trying to ling with fifth third bank and get error (108) when i go to the banks site nothing happens. i dont have pop ups blocked? can you help ?

August 26, 2022

Hi there, rleick.

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community. Let me discuss some details about error 108. Then, ensure you can perform some troubleshooting steps to link the fifth third bank to QuickBooks Self Employed.

The banking error 108 you received means there's a message from your bank or credit card on their website. Messages, especially ones about updates, can block the connection with QuickBooks.

To fix the said error, I recommend reviewing messages on your bank or credit card's website. This way, you can verify if there are certain actions that need to perform.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website. These should be the same credentials you use to connect the account to QuickBooks.
  2.  Review for any updates, messages, or notifications.
  3. If you need to take any action, the message gives you specific steps.

Please know that the messages are usually about, new terms of service. Also, announcements about maintenance or other site changes and new offers. Then, in case you don't see notifications when you sign in, you'll need to turn off your web browser's pop-up blocker.

After that, sign back into QuickBooks Self Employed and click the Refresh all button. This allows you to refresh the bank's connection between the bank and our program. Please follow the steps below.

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Choose the profile ⚙ icon and select Bank accounts.
  3. Click the Refresh all button.

Then, if you didn't see notifications on your bank's website and still see the 108 error, you can reach out to your bank. They have the tools to check your account and verify why you keep receiving the 108 bank error.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see steps on how you can enter sales income and expenses manually in QBSE: Manually add transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please don't hesitate to click the Reply button below if you have clarification or any concerns related to QBSE. I'm always here to help, rleick. Have a great day!

hello

my bank show in active but quick books is not show my bank   is connect in quick Books

please help...?

September 29, 2022

Thanks for chiming in on this thread, @hema mawri.

Let me share some information about connecting a bank in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

To refresh the connection between your financial institutions and QBSE, try clicking Refresh All multiple times on your Banking page. After that, reconnect your bank account

We can perform basic troubleshooting to isolate the issue. Let's try accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+N
  • Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+P
  • Safari: Command+Shift+N

If everything is fine, clear your browser's cache. This way, you can access QuickBooks with a clean slate. Issues like this can be the result of too much historical data stored in your browser. You can also switch to a different supported browser to see if it has something to do with your browser. Once connected, you can categorize transactions on the list.

Looking forward to having this working again. Get back to me if you have other banking questions and I'm always here to assist.

Having real issues connecting my account to Quickbooks & no one can seem to help.  It is pretty useless to me at the moment.  Tried using Chrome, cleared the cache - checked with HSBC and they have no issues their end.  It just doesn't want to pull through the information for some reason.  Is it possible to talk to a human being rather than via chat / email as it is just a complete waste of time.  Weeks are now going by, and I am paying for a system that I cannot use.  I don't want to have to upload a .csv file with my bank transactions as I might as well just use Excel :smileysad:

Hello, Arwel2000.

Thank you for joining here and sharing your experiences. Unfortunately, QuickBooks phone support is unavailable in the UK version. The only way to reach out to our representative is by using the Message an agent icon.

In the meantime, you'll have to manually add transactions using CSV file. To know more about it, please refer to this article: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed

Then, you can now review and categorise them.

On the other hand, for more details on handling your account, feel free to use our Community Help articles. Just select a topic that you need help with.

Feel at ease to comment down below if have other concerns with QuickBooks. I'll be around to help you out. Have a great day ahead.

Help, please - Using QBO and no luck linking business checking account. I get error code 106, it also tells me to double check the info entered to make sure they get the right form. What form? Ive called my bank and used QBO screen share to help fix this, but no one knows what is going wrong. I was able to manually enter my bank info for Payments and Intuit made 3 small deposits which I entered in QBO to verify account, but it tells me to finish setup by linking my bank account. My bank says they can see QBO trying to link on their end, but QBO says error 106 every time.

Hi

I'm here to share some troubleshooting steps to fix the error you received.

Banking error 106 means QuickBooks is unable to locate your account on your bank or financial institution's website. Let's ensure to log into your bank account outside of QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If you did not close your bank or FI account, contact our QuickBooks Support team so we can investigate the issue.

Once everything's good, you can check this article as your guide in linking your bank account: Connect your bank feeds using Open Banking.

You can always get back to this thread whenever you have questions about bank feeds.

November 18, 2022

I did make sure I can use my FI login credentials outside of QBO and I am able to login to my account successfully. I also copied the URL to my FI. I have also already spoken to several QB Support reps and none of them have been able to help me. They are not sure what the problem is. They told me to contact my FI, which I have. They said they can see QB accessing my account. Not sure why QBO is saying it appears my account is closed when QB is accessing it. QB made 3 small deposits to my account to verify it, so I know QB is making contact with my FI and my bank account. I’ve cleared my cache/cookies/browsing and tried to link account but no success. Seems as though linking bank accounts is a problem on Quickbooks end. This is a top complaint from your users. Being able to link your bank account with QB is hit or miss. I think if I pay for a service/feature that service/feature should work to it’s full potential. I do not want to manually enter my bank info/transactions every day.

I cannot upload from my bank to QB self-employed as my bank button is blocked by other options.

Please help me clear my screen!

Hello there, @DeForrest.

Have you tried following the troubleshooting steps shared by my colleague RCV? This will help you access the banking button and fix the bank connection between your bank and QuickBooks.

Before we start, may I know what financial institution are you using? I need this information to check with our engineers if there's any reported issues for your bank that is under investigation.

To start, let's access your account using private browser. There are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources which causes some errors or unusual behavior like can't access the banking button.

You can use either of the shortcut keys listed above. If it works successfully, you'd want to clear your regular browser's cache or use other compatible browsers in QBSE.

Then, clicking the Refresh all button bypasses the usual system process and downloads again the historical banking transactions.

Though you can refresh the list manually, the downloaded banking transactions still depends on what your bank shares with us. For now, you can manually import your bank transactions using CSV file. Just follow the steps shared above on how to import.

Here are some articles that you can use for reference when dealing with downloaded banking transactions:

Also, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support team. This way, they can further check on this matter and provide some troubleshooting steps. Refer to this article on how to reach them: QBSE Customer Support Team.

Once your bank account is updated, you can categorise the transactions to ensure your financial records are correct. For more guidance, feel free to check out this article: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Leave a reply below if you have other concerns with your banking feeds or any questions with QuickBooks. I’m more than happy to help you. Keep safe always.

I'm with santander and it won't connect

December 29, 2023

Hi there, Purdy83.

I want to make sure the connection issue with your bank account gets fixed.

There are reasons why you're getting banking errors in your account. And these are due to the following:

  • The bank recently made some changes with their security feature or connection.
  • Log-in credentials set up in QBSE don't match with the online banking login.
  • QBSE is unable to connect to your bank's website.

To get this fix, let's do a manual refresh of the connection in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) to fetch cleared transactions from your bank. Doing this would trigger the bank to bridge connections with the system.

Here's how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Bank accounts under Transactions.
  3. Click on the Refresh all button three times.

Once everything is back to normal, you might want to learn more about categorising bank transactions. This helps you put transactions to the correct accounts.

Let me know if you have any other banking questions. I'll be right here to provide additional assistance. Wishing you a good one!
