Question

My bank shows an active connection to QuickBooks but quick books shows the need to refresh my bank. Is there a way to make Quick books see the connection to my bank?

Quick books provided a webpage crash each time I tried to connect. The bank goes through and adds the connection like it's been successful but quick books refuses to refresh

I'll help you resolve this, amazonpinkriverd.

There are certain errors that prevent the program from connecting to your bank's website. If you happen to encounter one, you can check this article to be guided in fixing it: Open Banking connection errors in QuickBooks Online.

The accumulated cache in the browser can also affect the bank connection in QBO. To rule this out, you'll want to access your QBO company using an incognito or private window. This mode doesn't save your web searches, site data, and cookies. Here are the shortcut keys:

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command Shift for Safari

Once you're in, head to the Banking page and check your bank connection. If it's now working well, go back to their regular browser and then, clear its cache to delete the accumulated junk files and improve your browsing experience. Switching to other supported browsers can also help resolve this issue.

Lastly, I'm adding this reference to learn how to review your downloaded bank transactions in QBO: Categorize and match online bank transactions

Fill me in if you have  any other concerns or additional questions about open banking. Have a great rest of the day.
