Problem connecting to bank account

Hi

Hoping someone can help me.

I'm trying to connect my bank account to the QB self employed app and Internet account for the 1st time.

The first time I did get as far as putting in my password but I got it wrong.  It took me back to the login screen where I could enter my bank customer number but now it says the following after I've entered it...

"Looks like you didn’t complete the connection with Royal Bank of Scotland (UK).

We'll take you to your site now to reconnect your account. Then we'll return you here and get everything back on track. (571)"

It then takes me back to enter my customer number then gives the same message again.

I've tried through the app n the net and only ever get my customer number in then it just gives me the above message. Going round in circles.

I'd like to get this set up today as I'm starting my business from this week.

Help!!

😊 thanks

Hi there, @QueenCleanCD

Thanks for sharing your concerns with us today. I'll help you connect your Royal Bank of Scotland UK.

First, ensure that you have an active online banking account with your bank. Then, enter the same credentials as you connect it with QuickBooks.

If you already have online banking but getting the same error, it might be a simple webpage sync issue. Try logging out and logging back in.

If the issue is still there, I'd recommend using a private browser as this unexpected behavior can also be caused by a cache-related issue. When a browser's cache is full or corrupted, it can cause several issues within QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N.
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Safari (new versions): Command Shift N

Log in to your QuickBooks account, then connect your bank again. When they appear properly, go back to the regular browser and clear the cache. This will clear the webpage data that's causing the issue.

Alternatively, you can use another supported browser to check your connected accounts.

Then, follow the steps shared in this article to connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Get back to this post if you have other concerns. I'm always around to guide you.
