Question

Quick books is encountering a problem when it links with my Monzo account.

I have linked my accounts successfully for the past 2 years but up until recently I have not been able to successfully link my Monzo account like before. The only change is I have added a Flex card to my usual Monzo account. Is there a fix for this problem.

Hello and welcome to the Community, Rati

We're aware of an issue where some customers are receiving the error "Hmm, looks like we hit a snag, Select a different account or try adding the account later." when connecting to Monzo in QuickBooks. Is this the same error you're experiencing? 🙂

Hi

First of all Monzo isn’t even on the list, I have to do a manual search.

Secondly the message I get is ‘Hmm.. we didn’t find any usable accounts here. We connected to your bank but didn’t find the right kind of accounts. make sure we are connecting to the right bank and start again’

strange since it’s the same account I’ve always used.

I appreciate your quick response, Rati. I appreciate the extra information you provide while connecting QuickBooks and Monzo's bank account. Allow me to chime in and help share information on how you can successfully link your bank and QBO so you can manage your transactions.

I looked through our records and couldn't find any reported issues similar to the error message you received. When connecting to QBO, make sure your bank is compliant with Open Banking regulations, so you can link your accounts and credit cards for a complete, real-time view of all your finances and cash flow. The list of banks that support open banking is detailed in this article.: Banks that support Open Banking connections with QuickBooks Online.

On the other hand, if you're just about to connect your account in QuickBooks and you couldn't find it in the bank lists, let me share with you the reasons why:

  • Your bank has multiple names on our list. Make sure you have selected the correct listing or have tried all possible links. Search by the banking sign-in URL to ensure you are using the correct listing.
  • Your bank does not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • Your bank is not a participating financial institution.

If your account isn't supported yet, you can request the support of your bank. For more details, please check this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking

I'd also recommend logging into your bank's website. Check if there's ongoing maintenance or any security notification that requires your approval to connect third-party apps like QuickBooks.

In the meantime, you can manually upload the bank transactions into QuickBooks Online. You can click on this article on how to perform the steps: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online. After that, transactions will be added to your Online banking.

Please refer to this article to view steps on how you can review downloaded bank and credit card transactions by matching or adding them to avoid duplicate entries: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

If you need any additional assistance while managing your bank transactions, you can leave a comment below. I'll be sure to get back to you.
