Running bank balance

Hello.  Is there a way to get a report of what makes up the running bank balance?  I am not confident of what is open.  Also, is there a way to find what journal entries, checks have not cleared individually?

Hello Nnassif, 

 

So the way in which Mark R has told you, you can search in there and filter it to the time frame you need or you could look at these reports, Trail balance or balance sheet or transaction detail by account and can filter and customise the report so it just shows what you need to see. FOr example in the transaction detail by account report you can go to customise>add columns >put a tick in CLR and then go to the filter in customised and add in the cleared you can filter by transactions not cleared.

You can go to the Bank Register instead, to see the running bank balance and find journal entries and checks that are not cleared. Let me guide you through the steps.

 

  1. In your QuickBooks Online, click Accounting from the left menu and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the bank account from the list, then click View register under the Action column.
  3. On the Bank Register page, you can see the running bank balance from the Balance column and the journal entry and check that are not cleared in the Checkmark column.

Hi Mark, thanks for he note. Yes, I am aware of that, but the company I took over has been open for over 15 years and QB was a mess.  There are pending items that go as far back as 2016 and its not possible to trace the running balance back that far.  I was hoping to get a report that shows any check entered that hasn't cleared (as far back as you can go), and things like that.  This was I can see whats NOT cleared.
