Question

Should I just declare 1 bank account?

Can anyone help...

So clients pay into a separate bank account and I transfer that to my personal to pay bills.

Should I just link up my main personal one or do I need to connect both?

As I am transferring the money over, I don't know if that is going to mess things up.

Hello @BondandBloom,

In QuickBooks Self-Employed. it is recommended to connect one of your two accounts since transactions coming in are the same. Let me walk you through the steps on how to accomplish this.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Bank Accounts.
  3. Under Search, enter your bank's name or website.
  4. Select Continue.
  5. Type in your online banking login credentials.
  6. Click Connect.

In the same manner, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you connect an account to online banking: Connect Bank and Credit Card Accounts to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

On top of that, I've also included this reference helpful with the steps needed in reviewing your transactions after downloading them: Categorise Transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can always leave a comment below if you have follow-up questions with this or start a new thread if you have any other concerns. I'll be here to lend a hand. Take care and stay safe!
