Snap recipe not linking to correct account

I snapped my recipe for my payment and when it comes to link it to a card, the drop down menu for the car doesn’t come up. I have linked this card to my account already although it wouldn’t let me link it on my phone. I had to do it online

It's good to have you posting here in the Community, Harry. Let's get the snap receipt link to the right account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before we start, may I know if you're referring to the dropdown menu in the QBO web or in the mobile app? Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

When you link your receipt to an account in the QuickBooks mobile app, you just need to click the Payment account section since it doesn't have a dropdown arrow. Then, select an account. See the screenshot below for reference:

If you're unable to do so, let's reset your app data. This is similar to clearing the cache from a web browser. Doing this refreshes the app storage and improves its performance. Here's how:

  1. In your QuickBooks Online Mobile App, select the Gear icon.
  2. Choose the Refresh Data menu.
  3. Tap Yes.

Once done, try to click the Payment account section again. If it still doesn't work, I'd recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

On the other hand, if you're referring to the dropdown menu in the QBO web, there should be a dropdown arrow from the Bank/Credit account section

If you're unable to see this option, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to rectify this. Sometimes the system occasionally behaves strangely when the browser frequently accesses pages. It could be due to corrupted cache files in your browser. With this, I recommend using a private window or an incognito so QBO runs effectively.

You can use these shortcut keys to access a private window or an incognito:

  • Mozilla Firefox or Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once done, please try to open the page and see if you now have the dropdown arrow. If yes, then go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to fix the unexpected behavior in the product.

You can also use other supported web engines to learn what computer and browser are needed for the best experience when using QuickBooks.

I've added this article if you want to upload your receipts from your computer or Google drive: Upload your receipts and bills to QuickBooks Online.

Looking forward to knowing this gets resolved. If you have other questions while working with receipt snap, just drop a reply in this thread. I'll be here to assist. Have a good one.
