Question

Sorry if this is simple/asked 100 times before. If I snap my receipt and the transaction is on the bank why can’t I match them? All info matches but it’s not ‘matching’

Hello, sarah-stryczek-g.

I'm here to provide some information on how you can match receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online
  2. Go to Transactions, then Receipts.
  3. Choose Upload from computer or Upload from Google Drive.
Note: Each image or file should only contain a single receipt or bill.

Ensure that QBO transactions have been uploaded but it's not in the book yet. You can review, edit, add or match transactions:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Receipts.
  2. In the For Review tab, you can review your uploaded receipts and bills.
  3. Check the labels in the Action column to find out what steps you need to take next.

If there’s no record found

If  QuickBooks can’t find an existing transaction that matches, you can create a new transaction from your receipt or bill.

  1. Choose Review to make corrections or add missing info.
  2. Click Save and next.
  3. Tick Create bill or Create expense.

If there’s one record found

It means QuickBooks found an existing transaction that matches your uploaded receipt or bill.

  1. Tap the dropdown▼ next to Match, then Review. Or, click Match to connect your receipt or bill to the transaction right away.
  2. Review the potential match.
  3. Choose Match to connect the receipt or bill to your existing transaction.

If there are two or more records found

  1. Tap the dropdown▼ next to Match, then choose Review.
  2. Compare the potential matches, then select the correct bill or expense.
  3. Hit Match to connect it to the receipt or bill.
