Still not connecting, very annoyed with this and Quickbooks are no help.....

Hi PeterHewittCouture,

This isn't the kind of encounter that we want you to come across.

Let's try connecting your bank account on a private window. You can use these keyboard shortcuts to open one:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: Command Shift N

If it works, you can go back to a regular browser and clear its cache. A piled cache can also be the reason for some unexpected issues in QuickBooks.

You can also switch to a different browser like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, or Microsoft Edge as an alternative.

Once connected, you're good to categorise the items. Here's an article as your guide: Categorise and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I'm just a post-away if anything arises. Keep safe!

Hello Powertexwithpeter,

Welcome to the Community page,

What bank is it you are trying to connect to in Quickbooks?

Is any error messages or codes coming up when you try and connect it up.

Thanks for sharing the bank account your using, Powertexwithpeter.

I'm here to ensure you're able to connect your Barclays account in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

To do this, I'd suggest updating the account in QuickBooks. This will refresh the connection between your bank and our program.  Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Bank accounts.
  3. Click Refresh all

Aside from updating your account, you can also add transactions manually using a CSV file. Before doing so, make sure to download the entries from your bank's website. Once you have the data, you can now start importing it in QuickBooks.

Additionally, I've included these articles that'll ensure your books are accurate:

Please come back and keep us posted on your progress in getting this connection issue resolved. I'm determined to ensure your Barclays account works well with QuickBooks.
